Red Dirt Redemption is a western themed event to show pride in Oklahoma's old western heritage. Though not required, we heavily suggest players show up without modern tactical equipment and try to wear western themed clothing- such as button ups, cowboy hats, jeans, cowboy boots, blankets, and dusters.
The long abandoned town of El Tijuan sits atop a hidden treasure of gold rumored to be part of a lost Confederate stash. One day an old drunk propsector with loose lips tells of a map he found for this treasure during a game of cards. Unfortunately for him, two members from opposite gangs were there at table leading to a brawl, a shootout, and eventually the whole salloon burning to the ground. The map was lost.
Both gang members however made it back to their gangs and shared the information. Now both believe that whoever claims El Tijuan first will be able to claim the long lost treasure.
As tensions rise, ambushes, arsons, and backroom betrayals erupt across the frontier. Cattle rustling escalates into full-on sabotage. Bounties are placed. Innocents get caught in the crossfire.
The law, weak and outgunned, watches from a distance.
There are three primary ways of winning Red Dirt Redemption.
Buildings are marked with numbers in blocks, such as the 100 block, 200 block, etc. Areas in red are off limits. The map may be used with MGRS grid coordinates but also as a simple Alpha-Numeric grid system for ease of use.
Identified by yellow bandanas, the Golden Spurs gang was created from past soldiers who sought to keep their fights going- they believe they are owed more by the country they fought for and choose to take what is owed by force!
Identified by green bandanas, he Greenhorns gang originally started as a rebellion of workers against overbearing companies taking advantage of their workers and tend to target the wealthiest of business men in the west.
The standard rules for the T1 Airsoft Outdoor Field are all in effect during the course of Battleground events. To read them click the link below.
When a normal participant is hit they may return back to their HQ immediately or stay where they are for however long they want. This allows them to wait for medics or simply head back whenever they feel like it.
However, once a player decides to "die" and return to HQ, they may not change their mind, receive Buddy Aid, or be reset by a Medic. They may only return to HQ at this point.
All participants should have between 3 bandages on their person.
When a participant is hit and becomes a "dead-man", they may be revived by any other still alive participant. The alive participant will take one of the dead-man's bandages and securely tie it around the dead-man's arm. Once finished, the dead-man becomes alive again and is back in the game.
Every participant may receive buddy aid once.
In order to receive additional buddy aids you must be wearing body armor.
Bandages may only be removed at your HQ or by a Medic.
If you are hit again and have reached the maximum number of Buddy Aids you can receive, you must respawn at your HQ.
No body armor rules will be used for this event.
No medic rules will be used for this event.
This event will be held in July of each year.
All times are tentative and depend on players and various other factors.
